Method for encoding video with non-compressed mode and device implementing the method

The method involves compressing a macro block during processing in a normal coding mode by an encoding loop and then by an entropic coder, where the compression is effectively considered if a size occupying the macro block after the compression is less than a size occupying the macro block without compression. Non compressed mode is permitted to be active when the compression during the processing is not efficient, where samples of video source corresponding to the macro block reconstructed by a local decoder of the loop are transmitted without compression to output of the coder. An independent claim is also included for a video coding device, comprising an encoding loop.
