<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cycle life characteristics of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery by suppressing capacity deterioration and increase of internal resistance as much as possible even in case a large-current pulse charge/discharge is repeated for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode plate, nonaqueous electrolyte, and a negative electrode plate. A positive electrode mixture layer contains lithium-containing complex oxide, and a total thickness the positive electrode mixture layer on both sides is 40 μm or more and 100 μm or less, and an electrode area of the positive electrode plate per 1 Ah of battery capacity is 520 cm<SP>2</SP>or more and 800 cm<SP>2</SP>or less, and a negative electrode mixture layer contains an easily graphitized carbon material capable of storing and releasing lithium. In a wide-angle X-ray diffraction pattern of the easily graphitized carbon material measured by using CuKα-ray, a ratio of a peak intensity I(101) attributed to a (101) face and a peak intensity I(100) attributed to a (100) face satisfies a relation of: 0<I(101)/I(100)<1.0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
