<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which assures wide viewing angle display both in transmissive display and in reflective display. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal layer 50 taking on a vertical alignment state interposed between a pair of substrates, has a transmissive display region T and a reflective display region R within a single dot region and further has a color filter 22 equipped with a plurality of colored layers disposed between a substrate 10A and the liquid crystal layer 50. The plurality of colored layers are formed so as to be two-dimensionally superposed on an inter-dot region and, on the other hand, an insulating film 26 differentiating the liquid crystal layer thickness of the reflective display region R and that of the transmissive display region T is disposed so as to cover a region where the coloring layers are superposed. In a dot region, a protrusion 28 which protrudes from an inside face of the substrate into the inside of the liquid crystal layer 50 is arranged. Further, a protrusion 29a which protrudes from the inside face of the substrate into the inside of the liquid crystal layer 50 is arranged on the insulating film 26 of the inter-dot region where the coloring layers are superposed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
