<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a garnet single crystal containing Pb in a reduced content, in regard to a garnet single crystal production method for growing a single crystal such as a magnetic garnet by using a flux method. <P>SOLUTION: A solution containing B, Na and Bi in such a ratio that when the blending ratios of B, Na and Bi are each defined as x, y and z (mol%), x, y and z satisfy 0<y/(y+z)≤0.0143x+0.24, and x is 2.0-12.0 mol% is prepared, and the garnet single crystal is grown by using the solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
