[Also in Division C1] A mixture of a hydrocarbon feed 1, e.g. naphtha and steam 2, is heated for gasifying under pressure through a heat transfer wall by combustion gases (in a chamber 5) which are passed to a turbine 26, 31 to recover power. The gasification may be catalytic or non- catalytic, and product gas may be recycled at 3<SP>1</SP>. The turbines 26, 31 drive compressors 19, 14 for air 11, which, with fuel supplied at 24, is burnt at 5, and in a start-up burner 21. An H 2 , CO-containing gas is produced, for a fuel gas or for methanol synthesis.</p> |
