The machine has a feed belt guiding sound absorbing panels (40) to milling tools e.g. diamond tool, step by step. The tools are lowered in a stepwise controlled frequency, which is adapted to guiding speed. The milling tools held in a milling head (20) are integrally equipped with an individual drive (14). The milling head is fastened to a milling element (10). The milling tools and the milling element are arranged perpendicular to a feed direction of the panels. The tool is provided in a suction chamber, which is separated from a drive chamber by a separation wall.
