<p>PURPOSE: A cell balancing system using a transformer is provided to reduce the discharge of heat energy by maintaining a battery cell in a voltage and temperature range. CONSTITUTION: A transformer(140) includes a first winding(142) and a second winding(144). A switching controller selects a first cell combined with the first winding and a second cell combined with the second winding. The first cell and the second cell are serially combined. The first cell has a larger voltage than the second cell. A controller(120) transmits the energy from the first cell to the second cell for balancing the battery cells by controlling the energy from the first cell to the first winding. A switch(Q1) is serially combined with the first winding. The controller controls the switch according to the current applied through the first winding.</p> |
