The indexing rotary table is controlled by a drum cam (30) moved around a longitudinal axis by a transmission unit (16,18,20,24,26,28) driven by an electric motor (14). A sensor element either positioned closely to the drum cam (30) or to one of the power transmission elements (16,18,20,24,26,28) is used for the detection of a slight deformation of one of the parts, indicating a unwanted halt of the table. The sensor can be designed as a strain gauge or a piezo element. |
