PURPOSE: A control valve for a variable displacement compressor is provided to simply the structure by employing diaphragm and plunger combination in which the diaphragm assembly and the plunger assembly are vertically arranged. CONSTITUTION: A control valve for a variable displacement compressor comprises a housing with a coil, a valve body(13) with a path(12b) connected between a discharge chamber and a crank chamber and a path(12c) providing intake pressure, an atmospheric part forming an atmospheric side of the diaphragm, a diaphragm assembly which operates according to the intake pressure of a reduction part, a plunger assembly which opens and closes the path between the discharge chamber and the crank chamber by up-down motion with electromagnetic force, and a connector mold(18) which closes the top of the housing.
