The gear (7G) has a stay rod (20) whose height is controllably varied between a maximum height in which an attitude of an aircraft is horizontal, and a minimum height in which the attitude is nosed up. The rod has a damper (22) located in a cylindrical passage (25) of a leg (21) to define an internal fluidic chamber (27). A fluidic power source (40) e.g. helium source, is connected to the chamber by a selector valve (48), such that the source fills or drains the chamber by varying the rod height based on control of the valve to permit the attitude to be horizontal or nosed up.
|
