<p>The device has a signaling controller to establish a downward point to multipoint connection (15) with leaf nodes (A, B) i.e. Internet protocol routers, by transmitting a connection request message to the nodes. The request message has an address of the nodes and downward traffic characteristics to characterize a quality of service for downward data stream. The request message has upward traffic characteristics to characterize a quality of service for upward data stream and a tag to establish an upward point-to-multipoint connection (16) so as to establish bi-directional connection. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for establishing a bi-directional point to multipoint connection between a source node and leaf nodes in a multi protocol label switching (MPLS) network (2) a switching network for multi protocol label switching (MPLS) network, comprising a signaling module.</p> |
