The arrangement has a cross-arm (18) i.e. vehicle's structural element, extending transversally in an engine compartment (10) and placed longitudinally between an engine and a front end of the vehicle. A raceway (24) is fixed on the cross-arm and extends transversally in the compartment. The raceway is in the form of semi-shell of U-longitudinal section opened towards rear and interior of the compartment. An electric cable (20) has a central section (20c) extending transversally from a proximal section (20a) into the raceway. The central section is retained in the raceway by a retaining unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling an electric cable and a raceway in an engine compartment of a vehicle.
