The device (1) has a cavity (3) whose front wall (4) includes a small sized orifice (5) to communicate with outside. An actuating member i.e. actuator (7), varies a volume of the cavity. A protection unit (12) protects against introduction of pollutant particles e.g. dust, and/or liquid particles e.g. wash water, in the orifice and/or protects presence of the particles in the cavity. The protection unit has a filtering unit to filter flow of air passing through the orifice. The filtering unit has a permeable membrane (13) made of a hydrophobic permeable material and woven material.
