PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for producing reduced iron from a material containing iron oxide are provided to reduce environmental contamination by separating foreign materials from cooling gas used for molded products and discharging clean gas through an exhaust gas treatment facility. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for producing reduced iron from a material containing iron oxide comprises an iron oxide containing material tank(100), a crusher(200) which crushes an iron oxide containing material, a sorter(250) which classifies the crushed iron oxide containing material according to particle size, a mixer(300) which mixes the iron oxide containing material less than 0.5mm with an additive, a molding machine(400) which molds the mixed iron oxide containing material and additive, a drier(500) which dries the molded product, and an RHF(Rotary Hearth Furnace,600) including an impurity removing unit(700) extracting impurities from the molded product.
