PURPOSE: A method for providing location based information of a portable terminal is provided to display destination guide information in the portable terminal, thereby easily providing event information around a station on a moving path and destination information. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal transmits present position information to an event information providing server(103). The event information providing server searches event information corresponding to a location of the portable terminal in a database(107). If the event information exists, the event information providing server transmits the event information to the portable terminal(109,111). The portable terminal displays the event information(115).
