PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally reproduce an animation by using a reproducing application that instructs to stop the reproduction of the animation when the frequency of display is changed during the reproduction of the animation.

SOLUTION: The animation reproduction apparatus 100 includes: a frequency changing section 154 that changes the display frequency to a frequency for the animation when the reproduction of the animation is started, and that changes the display frequency to a frequency used before the start of the reproduction of the animation when the reproduction of the animation stops; and a reproducing section 152 that stops the reproduction of the animation when the display frequency is changed by the frequency changing section 154. When the stop of the reproduction of the animation by the reproducing section 152 is based on the change of the display frequency by the frequency changing section 154, the frequency changing section 154 maintains the display frequency at the frequency for the animation.
