<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a decrease of a coloring efficiency of each color, when printing using a special gloss ink and a color ink is to be carried out. <P>SOLUTION: The printing apparatus includes a printing head in which a special gloss ink nozzle array, with a plurality of special gloss ink nozzles and a color ink nozzle array, with a plurality of color ink nozzles are arranged substantially opposite to each other in the subscanning direction. When a special gloss region is to be printed, a group of the special gloss ink nozzles actually used in the special gloss ink nozzle array and a group of the color ink nozzles actually used in the color ink nozzle array are disposed, with a shift by a predetermined interval in the subscanning direction, whereby the printing apparatus prints by making the special gloss ink and the color ink ejected by different timings.
