<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus for an automatic transmission and a control device for the automatic transmission satisfactorily maintaining fuel economy improving effect of a vehicle by execution of neutral control even when the vehicle is used for a long period of time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When neutral control start conditions are satisfied (affirmative determination in step S10), ECU detects travel distance Ds of the vehicle (step S14). When the travel distance Ds is less than learning reset threshold value KDs (affirmative determination in step S15), ECU executes second neutral control process using first target fluid pressure KPc1 stores in EEPROM (step S22). The travel distance Ds is not less than the learning reset threshold value KDs (negative determination in step S15), ECU executes first neutral control not using the first target fluid pressure KPc1 (step S20).
