<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication between an imaging apparatus which belongs to a local network and to which a fixed global IP address is not given, and an external network. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a server configured communicable, respectively, with an imaging apparatus that belongs to a local area network and a terminal device that belongs to any network other than the local area network, comprising: a means for receiving an inquiry, periodically transmitted from the imaging apparatus, about the presence/absence of a connection request to the imaging apparatus; a means for determining whether or not the connection request to the imaging apparatus is received from the terminal device when the inquiry from the imaging apparatus is received, and for maintaining a connection, with the imaging device, set up on the basis of the inquiry under a condition where a result of the determination is positive; a means for receiving imaging data, picked up by the imaging apparatus, transmitted from the imaging apparatus while utilizing the maintained connection; and a means for transmitting the received photographic data to the terminal device.
