METHOD FOR ORIENTING GOLD NANOROD, METHOD FOR ORIENTING AND FIXING GOLD NANOROD, AND SUBSTRATE PREPARED WITH THE SAME

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for orienting rod-shaped fine particles of gold and fixing them on a substrate, a substrate having the particles fixed thereon, and its use. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for orienting the gold nanorods includes immersing the substrate in a liquid dispersion, in which gold nanorods having the surface modified with hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) or gold nanorods having the surface modified with polystyrene sulfonate (PSS) are dispersed, and applying a magnetic field to the dispersion. The method for orienting the gold nanorods and fixing them on the substrate includes evaporating a solvent while applying the magnetic field to the dispersion.
