<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method of a columnar soil improving body, contributing to the improvement of the original ground making effective use of soil generated from construction, as well as, reducing the disposal amount of waste outside the field for the whole soil generated in the field in association with the construction of mainly a foundation structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The columnar soil improving body is constructed, by carrying out excavation while rotating a casing 1, constituted of a tapered part mounted with an excavating head at the chip and compacting and consolidating the peripheral ground to the side, and a cylindrical part continuous with the tapered part; and after excavating to a predetermined depth, in a state of a casing head projecting from the ground surface, soil 6 generated from construction of a structure from the casing head is thrown into the casing, until its top face is located above the ground surface, mixing and agitating soil in the casing 1 including the soil 6 generated from construction, by an agitation blade 7 while injecting a soil improving material into the soil inside the casing 1, and pulling up the agitation blade 7 and the casing 1 to the ground.
