Disclosed is a vehicle drive motor capable of efficiently cooling the motor stator without an increase in size. The vehicle drive motor comprises a stator (2) having a ring-shaped stator core (4) provided on the inner circumference of a tubular motor case (1) and a stator coil (5) provided on this stator core (4), and a rotor (3) which is positioned on the inner circumferential side of the stator core (4) and that can rotate freely with respect to the stator (2). Motor case (1) is provided with an oil supply channel (8) and an oil discharge channel (9) which open at locations which are separated from each other in the axial direction of the bore of the motor case. One or more stator core grooves (11), which connect the oil supply channel (8) and the oil discharge channel (9), are provided such that they extend in the axial direction on the outside surface of the stator core (4). Thus, lubricating oil flows from the oil supply channel (8) to the oil discharge channel (9) through the stator core grooves (11).
