PURPOSE: A method of switching an external input mode of a television is provided to reduce a repeated key input operation of the external device using a generic number. CONSTITUTION: A method of switching an external input mode of a television comprises the following: detecting an external device connected to the television(S10); determining an input of an external input key for an external input mode switching(S12); displaying a list of the detected external device by allocating a generic number to each detected external device(S14); inputting a number key while the list of the detected external device is displayed(S16); selecting the external device corresponding to a selected generic number(S18); and performing a switch to the selected external device(S20,S22). |
