An OSD controller is provided to drive external OSD without stoppage of the video and audio signal of a display unit even when a user watches a broadcast program by using a set-top box as cable broadcasting, satellite broadcasting, or IPTV(Internet Protocol Television). An OSD(On Screen Demand) controller(100) comprises a program storage unit(10), a first communications unit(20), a second communications unit(30), and a CPU(Central Processing Unit)(60). The first communications unit displays OSD in a display unit(90). In order to receive a command which a user inputs through the display unit, the first communications unit communicates with the display unit. A converting switch(22) inputs directly a signal, inputted through an OSD AV input terminal(21), to the AV input terminal of the display unit through an OSD AV output terminal(23). The OSD AV(Audio/Video) output terminal is connected to the AV input terminal of the display unit. The second communications unit transmits and receives a signal for controlling a device for comprising a home network. |
