PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly correct a picture shift caused by a camera shake in macro photographing, regardless of the photographing posture of a photographer. SOLUTION: An angular shake and a shift shake are detected by an angular velocity meter and an acceleration meter respectively prior to photographing, frequencies are extracted and then, comparison is performed to calculate the radius of rotation of the camera shake for each frequency. A plurality of calculated radii of rotation are weighted to calculate the final radius of rotation. A shake displacement amount in the principal point position of a photographic optical system is obtained from the calculated radius of rotation and angular shake output, to drive a shake correction means and correct the shift shake. Weighting for the plurality of radii of rotation is changed by the posture of the photographer. The contributing ratio of each frequency component is changed by the photographic posture, so that the shift shake can be more properly corrected by changing the weighting.
