PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor and an image forming apparatus excellent in cleaning property even when high-speed printing or printing in a large size is carried out. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor 10 includes a substrate 10A comprising an aluminum alloy, a film deposition layer 10B formed on the substrate, and projections 10C, formed along the grain boundaries 10Aa of the substrate 10A in an image forming region, as well as, with a part of them protruding from the surface of the film deposition layer 10B.
