PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for rapidly and accurately determining the existence of a threat material in a space, and analyzing the sign data of radiations from all the available detector devices. SOLUTION: A method for analyzing spectrum data generated by the detector for inspecting the substantially-enclosed space, with regard to the existence of one or more material of interest includes a process for classifying the material possibly existing in a detection path of the detector into one of a plurality material groups; a process for selecting data describing a representative curve of energy vs cross section for each material group; a process for calculating an interaction between one or more material groups and each material of interest so as to generate spectrum data of the material of interest; a process for generating a library of the spectrum data, and the process for comparing the spectrum data generated by the detector with the library of the spectrum data, and for analyzing the spectrum data so as to determine the existence of the threat material in the space.
