<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a widened type ticket examination machine for achieving proper processing which takes into consideration travelers who enter/leave and pass each other in a ticket examination machine. <P>SOLUTION: A boarding ticket acceptance part 21 for leaving is installed in an erection part 11 for leaving, and an erection part 12 for entry is installed in a boarding ticket acceptance part 22 for entry. Even when "passing each other" is generated, a traveler who enters is located at the erection part 12 side for entry, and the traveler who leaves is located at the erection part 11 side for entry so that the leaving direction and entry direction can be necessarily determined. Accordingly, when the detection sequence of reflection sensors 511, 512 and 513 installed at the erection part 11 for leaving is the order of leaving direction, the completion of the leaving of the travelers who leave among the travelers under "passing each other" is detected.
