<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for constructing a road with a smooth face material, which obtains an extremely smooth sliding surface, excellent in abrasion resistance, has a long life and also has high strength with an inexpensive structure, in which expansion and contraction caused by a change in the temperature of a beam can be stably and smoothly transferred to an expansion device and the costs of construction and material are low. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method for constructing the road, a base 22 arranged on an earthwork section-side road surface is partially supported by an abutment 13; a precast extended floor slab 16 extended to an earthwork section side from a bridge-side end is arranged on the base 22; and an integral pavement is constructed on the extended floor slab 16 and the bridge. A smooth face material 17, which has a fixing bracket 17a suspended to undersurface, is arranged on the undersurface of the extended floor slab 16; and an injection hole 25 communicating with the undersurface of the smooth face material 17 is provided from a top surface of the extended floor slab 16 in advance. Subsequently, a grout material 28 is injected into a gap between a top surface of the base 22 and the undersurface of the smooth face material 17 is provided from the injection hole 25 of the extended floor slab 16 and the smooth face material 17 arranged on the base 22, so as to form the smooth sliding surface with the smooth face material 17 on the top surface of the base 22.
