<p>A thermal energy machining ("TEM") machine (10) is designed with interchangeable components for processing different sized parts within a single frame. The frame weldment includes a base (14), an upper mounting plate (20) and intermediate mounting plates (22, 24). In one embodiment, a TEM machine (10) for processing short parts includes a ram cylinder (32) directly secured to the base (20), a chamber spacer (28) directly secured to the upper mounting plate (20) and a thermal chamber (26) directly secured to the chamber spacer (28). In another embodiment, a TEM machine for processing long parts includes a thermal chamber (26) directly secured to the upper mounting plate (20), a ram spacer (78, 80) directly secured to the base (14), and a ram cylinder (32) directly secured to the ram spacer.</p> |
