<p>Provided is a display device having an active matrix substrate, which comprises a glass substrate, a plurality of connecting terminals (41) formed on the surface of the glass substrate and arranged in parallel at an equal spacing from each other, and an inter-layer insulating film (38) for covering the plural connecting terminals. The inter-layer insulating film has an end portion formed to expose the leading ends of the plural connecting terminals to the outside. A notch (42) is formed in the region between the two adjoining connecting terminals of the end portion of the inter-layer insulating film. The notch has a stepped portion (46), which is constituted of a first face (43) forming the bottom face thereof, second faces (44) formed at higher positions than that of the first face, and a slope (45) formed continuously from the first face to the second faces. A pixel electrode material layer and a photosensitive resist layer are formed over the inter-layer insulating film, and the pixel electrodes are formed by a photo-etching method. Then, the end portion of the inter-layer insulating film can be cleared of the residue of the pixel electrode material.</p> |
