The digital to analog converter has electronic base elements which are connected at one pole and are connected to a connection point with the input of a comparator (C). An electrical variable is generated by connecting another pole to the connection point by each of the electronic base element with a signal. A calibration logic (L) with an electronic calibration element (Ck1,Ckn) is associated with exactly one pole in a particular connection point. The calibration logic is formed in response to the electrical value of the output signal of the comparator. An independent claim is included for a method for calibrating a digital to analog converter.
