摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device, focus adjusting method, and optical disk device which eliminate stray light effectively with a simple configuration and correct spherical aberration smoothly. <P>SOLUTION: The focus adjusting method changes the traveling direction of light beams in four light beam areas A to D set around a laser beam axis out of the laser light reflected by a disk and mutually disperses the light beams of the light beam areas A to D. A signal light area including only signal light appears in a detecting plane of a light detector, and a sensor pattern is set in the area while the sensor pattern for detecting the spherical aberration is set on the inside of the area.
