OPTICAL SIGNAL GENERATION CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal generation circuit 30 in which variation in intensity and extinction ratio of light generated by an LD 310 for communication according to transmission data is suppressed.

SOLUTION: For instance, an optical signal generation circuit 30 is used for a PON system 10 and generates an optical signal corresponding to data to be transmitted. The optical signal generation circuit includes the LD 310 for communication for generating the optical signal, a dummy LD 311 provided in the vicinity of the LD 310 for communication, and a driver circuit 32 which makes the LD 310 for communication emit light according to the data to be transmitted and makes the dummy LD 311 emit light to cause the dummy LD 311 to generate heat when the LD 310 for communication does not emit the light.
