<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic apparatus and method which can stably obtain recognition result of a scene. <P>SOLUTION: A digital camera 1 determines a presently being photographed scene SR, based on the number of recognition times (recognition frequency) in a scene recognition history and the newness of the recognition result. As shown in Fig.3(a), storage regions A[0], A[1], A[2], ..., for storing the recognition results of individual scenes, in turn, are provided in a RAM 69 of the digital camera 1. When the scene recognition history is to be updated, the recognition history is read in a CPU 75, and the number of recognition times (recognition frequency) for each scene is totaled (Fig.3(d)). Then, the scene with the maximum number of recognition times is determined as the presently photographing scene SR. In the example shown in Fig.3, a "scenery" of "2" and a "night view" of "3" appear in the scene recognition history two times (these become the scenes of the maximum frequency), and the total scene recognition result becomes SR=2, since the value of "2" is stored in the storage region of the newer side; and further, a photographic mode is set to a scenery mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
