<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably read a code symbol of a commodity in a wide range including the vicinity of a casing. <P>SOLUTION: A bar-code reading device 100 outputting an image signal to an image processing board 140 extracting an image of a bar-code from the image signal and analyzing it to acquire a commodity code has: a box-shaped casing 110 having an opening part 113 on an imaging area F side where the commodity with the bar-code is located; an imaging board 121 having a CCD imaging element; an imaging device 120 having an imaging lens 122; and an illumination board 130. In the bar-code reading device 100, a surface plate 111a is disposed on the side closest to an imaging area of the casing 110, and at a nearly central part of the surface plate 111a, a recessed part 160 is formed having the opening part 113 opened in an inner part. The illumination board 130 is disposed inside the opening part 113 and outside the imaging area F, and illuminates the whole imaging area F. The imaging device 120 is set such that a lens side limit Pc of a read area A for reading the bar-code by the image processing board 140 is nearly aligned with an arrangement position of the surface plate 111a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
