<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine equipped with a piston type balancer and a method of processing the same, attaining a construction sufficiently securing support rigidity of a crankshaft in the internal combustion engine equipped with the piston type balancer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine includes the balancer piston 24 which is arranged between two cylinders 14 equipped in the internal combustion engine 10 and moves in opposition to cylinder pistons 18. The internal combustion engine includes a balancer liner 26 integral with a crankshaft bearing section, which integrally has a balancer liner section 26a receiving insertion of the balancer piston 24 and the crankshaft bearing section 26b (a first bearing section 26b1 and a second bearing section 26b2) supporting the crankshaft 12 between the crankshaft bearing section and a cylinder block 16.
