<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vessel with a cover capable of effective preventing a trouble of breakage of a shaft of the cover and the surrounding portion of the shaft even when a child or the like accidentally treads on the opened cover. <P>SOLUTION: The vessel 1 with the cover has the vessel 2 and the cover 8 pivoted to the vessel 2, and the cover 8 has a connection part 8 and a pair of shafts 10. The vessel 2 has a bearing hole 12 with which the shaft 10 engages, and a contact part which contacts the cover 8 to determine the maximum opening of the cover 8 when the cover 8 is opened. The shaft 10 has a tilting surface 10a formed at the tip end. The tilting surface 10a is located at the opening end of the bearing hole 12. When a force strong enough to open the cover 8 to the extent exceeding the maximum opening is applied to the cover 8, the shaft 10 is fitted in the bearing hole 12 so that the tilting surface 10a turns to the acting direction of the force acting on the shaft 10, the contact part 14 of the vessel 2 being the fulcrum point.
