PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration that prevents sheet materials from adhering one another on a sheet material stacking means and prevents failure caused by heat generated by an electrical component in the sheet material conveying means and by a component near a fixing means, by blocking transfer of heat from a fixing area to its surrounding area and by cooling a sheet material subjected to fixing. SOLUTION: An ejecting section 60 for a sheet material P passed through a fixing device 50 is disposed downstream of the side end of a fixing section 50 in the direction of paper ejection. The direction of an air flow from a duct 92 toward a paper ejection tray 70a forming a second duct and the direction in which hot air above the fixing section 50 is taken by a cooling fan 93 are made substantially the same. Outside air introduced from the duct 92 is led to the cooling fan 93 through a conveyance passage for the sheet material P. Thus, outside air is directly blown onto the sheet material P subjected to fixing and efficiently cools it. Also, outside air is blown onto the inside of the conveyance passage for the sheet material P. This cools the sheet material P after fixing, and blocks heat from the fixing section 50.
