PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To strictly manage sales deadline without complicating the input operation of merchandise. SOLUTION: A device for controlling a vending machine manages the sales deadline by setting a merchandise storage deadline when a column is input to a column, and puts the pertinent column in a sales stop state when the merchandise whose merchandise storage deadline has arrived exists. The device includes a control means which, when the input completion command of the merchandise is input, determines whether there exists a column in which the merchandise storage deadline is not set, and which, when there exists the column in which the merchandise storage deadline is not set, sets an initialized deadline preliminarily set for the column in which the merchandise storage deadline is not set as the merchandise storage deadline.
