PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magenta toner having improved durability relating to developability and transfer properties, and further is improved in fixability. SOLUTION: The magenta toner comprises magenta toner particles containing at least a binder resin, a release agent, a colorant having a quinacridone skeleton, and a metal phthalocyanine and/or a metal phthalocyanine derivative having a center metal selected from a group consisting of Cr, Fe, Co, Zn and Mn. In a micro-compression test on the toner at a measurement temperature of 25°C, the recovery rate of the toner particles obtained by a displacement amount and unloading conditions satisfies the relation: 60≤(recovery rate)≤90.
