<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a resolution from being changed by an individual difference or aging in the resolution of an image scanner device. <P>SOLUTION: An image scanner has a super resolution processing function of producing a high-resolution image using a plurality of low-resolution image items. An initial MTF value not to perform super resolution processing due to the scanner device is measured and while referring to an MTF characteristic table wherein the number of low-resolution image data items for achieving a target MTF predetermined by the relevant type of scanner device is registered, if the number of data items corresponding to the initial MTF value is registered, the number is registered or if not registered, an interpolation value is registered in the scanner. The image scanner performs super resolution processing using the registered number of low-resolution image data items and outputs image data having a target resolution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
