<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight battery capable of preventing the generation of swelling and wrinkles to the outside a peripheral wall at a double-winding section and securing the airtightness of a battery case, and a manufacturing method for such an airtight battery. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The airtight battery 1 has a power generation element 40, and the battery case 10 which seals an opening by preparing the double winding section GL by a case body member 20 and a cover member 30. The peripheral wall 22 of the case body member includes flat-plate walls 23A, 23B and a curved wall 24, and the double winding section includes a straight winding section GM and a curved winding section GN. A straight width dimension Tm of the straight winding section GM has a fixed shape in the extending direction DC, and a curved width dimension Tn of the curved winding section GN is set up to be greater than the straight width dimension.
