<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize quick desorption of VOC from activated carbon contained in an adsorbent layer of a canister with low electric power consumption. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The canister 10 includes the adsorbent layer 14 containing granular activated carbon 13, a vessel 11 storing the adsorbent layer 14, and a pair of electrodes 15a putting the adsorbent layer therebetween.
