<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit and method for measuring the concentration of oxygen capable of enhancing the measuring precision of the concentration of oxygen. <P>SOLUTION: The unit 1 for measuring the concentration of oxygen has an arithmetic part 32 and an operation part 33. The operation part 33 sets the gas species of a balance gas. Further, the arithmetic part 32 has a correction part 32b and the correction part 32b corrects the value of the limit current detected by a current detecting part 32a corresponding to the gas species of the balance gas set by the operation part 33.
