<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process cartridge which can reduce a space required in an apparatus body of an image forming apparatus in order to open and close a protection member, and the image forming apparatus including the process cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: The process cartridge 5 includes a frame 20, a photoreceptor drum 7 and a drum cover 30. The photoreceptor drum 7 is held by the frame 20 so that its peripheral surface may be partially opposed to an aperture 27 of the frame 20. The drum cover 30 is provided to slide and move in a width direction relative to the frame 20 between a protection position where it is opposed to an image forming area of the photoreceptor drum 7 and a retreat position where it is not opposed to the image forming area. A drawer frame 45 includes a rib member 46. The rib member 46 allows the drum cover 30 to slide and move from the protection position to the retreat position accompanied by the attachment of the process cartridge 5 to the drawer frame 45 from above. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
