<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurrence of noise due to potential swinging by reducing a potential swinging area in a well diffused layer of a scanning circuit when reading out pixel signals. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A solid-state imaging device has: a sensor array having a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements arranged; and the scanning circuit for sequentially selecting the sensor array. The scanning circuit includes a plurality of shift registers connected in series with each other. Each of the plurality of shift resisters has a field effect transistor. The field effect transistor is arranged in the well diffused layer formed in a semiconductor substrate.
