<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically cutting off an automotive drive unit without any additional means for detecting information with respect to traffic situation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for automatic supply/cut off of a vehicle, in particular an internal combustion engine comprising the steps of: checking whether the vehicle during the running operation stops or not; determining the actual location of the vehicle when it is determined that the vehicle stops; and cutting off the drive unit based on the predicted stop time at the actual location and, during a longer period than a certain minimum period, based on the cut off time giving the minimum period in which cutting off the drive unit 1 is more efficient than continuously operating the drive unit.
