<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device in which the energy supply is unnecessary or the energy supply can be reduced so as to maintain the lock of a motor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The driving device 2 includes a first motor generator 4 arranged on a power transmission path, and a locking mechanism 30 which is capable of changing the engaging state for locking the first motor generator 4 and the disengaging state for unlocking the first motor generator by engaging a connection member 21 to be integrally rotatable with the first motor generator 4 with a case 17. The locking mechanism 30 has an engaging mechanism 31 for maintaining the engaging state without any power of an actuator 32 by using the torque generated in the connection member 21 after changing the state from the unlocking state to the engaging state.
