<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing plate manufacturing device which can manufacture a printing plate by automatically distinguishing the type of a master and automatically setting printing plate manufacturing conditions suited for the master. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A band pass filter 62 and CPU 61 determine whether an output signal from a photosensor 50 which detects the master to be conveyed contains a specified frequency component or not. Thus, it is determined whether the master is of such a specified type as to correspond to the specified frequency component. When the master has been determined to be of the specified type, the master is manufactured by controlling a printing plate manufacturing means on printing plate manufacturing conditions suited for the master complying with the specified type. Consequently, it is possible to manufacture the printing plate of successful type suited for the given master, and thereby, to enhance a printing quality level. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
